Two Chinese nationals are behind bars in Omaha after being arrested for drug trafficking.

The Douglas County Sheriff's Office says on Wednesday deputies stopped a vehicle for speeding on eastbound I-80 near 72nd Street. During the stop, the deputy detected the faint odor of marijuana coming from inside the vehicle.

The deputy deployed his canine, Fletch, for an exterior sniff of the vehicle and the dog detected the presence of drugs inside the car. A search was conducted and deputies recovered 55 pounds of marijuana in heat-sealed packages.

Both the driver, 25 year old Jilang Lu, and the passenger, 20 year old Wenshaui Zhao, are Chinese Nationals. They were arrested for Possession With Intent to Deliver Marijuana and booked into the Douglas County Department of Corrections.
