Man Arrested For Luring Girl Into His Home And Sexually Assaulting Her

An Omaha man is behind bars after luring a seven year old into his home with candy and sexually assaulting her. 

Authorities say 62 year old Ramon Marroquin is facing charges of Sexual Assault and Child Enticement.

The victim's mother tells 6 News that her daughter didn't understand what was happening. "He just takes me to his apartment and then he puts his tongue in my mouth." The mother says that is part of what the child told her happened Thursday at her neighbor's apartment near 45th & Blondo.

She says after the suspect kissed the girl, he took out his penis and had her touch it. "I asked her, 'why you go into the stranger's apartment when you don't know the people?'" Her daughter told her that he was not a stranger because he gave her candy.

The girl told her mother that Ramon Marroquin stood at the back of the building and without saying a word, waved her over. He then gave her candy and brought her into his basement apartment.

Marroquin will make his first court appearance on appears Wednesday and Douglas County Attorney Don Kleine says he will do his best to keep Marroquin away from kids. "The nature of the charge and obviously we'll ask for a condition as part of the bond that he won't have contact with children, even if he makes bond."
