Dirt Bike & ATV Theft Ring Targets Sellers

Omaha Police Auto Theft Unit is asking for help in a crime spree.  Police say that the victims are advertising 4-wheelers and dirt bikes on Facebook or Craigslist.  The suspects then ask the seller to meet up with them, typically in the Benson area.

When they meet the suspects ask to take the bike or the ATV on a test drive but they never return.  Sometimes the suspect leaves a cell phone as collateral but the phones are either broken, stolen or untraceable.

Sellers from around the metro area have fallen victim.
