Junkstock Is On - Rain, Snow Or Shine

Rain, shine or snow, the spring edition of Junkstock will be held April 6th, 7th and 8th at Sycamore Farms near Waterloo.  A winter weather advisory will be in effect on Friday from 4 a.m. until 6 p.m. and wind chill factors could be in the single digits.  Junkstock spokesperson Danelle Schlegelmilch says just like the Boy Scouts, they are always prepared for whatever Mother Nature throws their way.

Schlegelmilch says, "We have vendors on hold to bring out different things as needed.  We are going to have bonfires this weekend as well as heaters, s-mores, hayrack rides and hot cocoa.  A little extra warmth to keep you cozy we weren't planning on.  We want to make sure everyone is enjoying the farm as much as they can this weekend."

Just in time for the cold weather, Junkstock is opening an additional outdoor building for vendors.  They now have eight buildings open to shoppers and their indoor space has grown to over 40,000 square feet.

Also new this year is large circus tents around the farm where vendors will set up shop under the big top.

This the 15th Junkstock event and includes over 170 vendors and makers, more than 25 food trucks, eight live bands and many kids events  that include pony rides, face painting, bounce houses and a petting zoo.

Parking is free at the farm and there are free shuttles available to and from Metropolitan Community College's Elkhorn Campus.

The event is $10 at the gate or $20 for the entire weekend.  Children 12 and under are free.  It runs Friday and Saturday from 10 a.m. to 6 p.m. and Sunday from 10 a.m. until 5 p.m.  Sycamore Farms is located at 1150 River Road Drive in Waterloo, just north of Dodge of 228th Street.
