UNO Hires New Soccer Head Coach

The University of Nebraska-Omaha men's soccer team didn't have to wait long to find out who their new coach is.

Veteran Creighton coach Bob Warming will take over as the leader of the program after Jason Mims' departure for Major League Soccer's Real Salt Lake. UNO Vice Chancellor of Athletics Trev Alberts says Warming is a legend and the right person to take over the team. "Bob's resume speaks for itself. He is a very accomplished coach and teacher of the game who has been successful everywhere he's been."

Warming had been coaching at Penn State, but decided to retire to be closer to family in Omaha, but coudn't pass up the opportunity to multi-task, coach and be a grandfather. He is a two-time national coach of the year and has 39 years of collegiate experience. Warming spent fourteen years at Creighton, seven years at Penn State and four years at Saint Louis.
