Designer Of Water Slide That Killed Boy Arrested

The man who designed a water slide that killed a ten year old Kansas boy has been arrested.

U.S. Marshals in Dallas arrested 72 year old John Timothy Schooley at the Dallas-Fort Worth International Airport Monday night.

In 2016, Caleb Schwab died on the seventeen story Verruckt ride when the raft he was it went airborne, hitting an overhead loop and decapitating the boy.

Last week, a grand jury indicted Schooley and Schlitterbahn Waterparks and Resorts co-owner Jeffrey Henry. The indictment alleges that Schooley didn't have the technical or engineering expertise needed to design amusement park rides.

Schooley will be held in Dallas pending his arraignment and will eventually be extradited to Kansas for charges including Second Degree Murder.
