Funeral Arrangements Set For Iowa Family Killed In Mexico

Arrangements have been scheduled for the funerals of an Iowa couple and their two children who died while vacationing in Mexico.

A visitation is set for Friday at the Powers Funeral Home in Creston for 41 year old Kevin Sharp, 38 year old Amy, twelve year old Sterling and seven year old Adrianna. Open visitation will be from 2:00 PM to 7:00 PM Friday, March 30th.

The Celebration of Life Memorial Services for the Sharps will be at 2:00 PM Saturday, March 31, 2018 at the Southwestern Community College Gymnasium in Creston. A private burial will be held at the Graceland Cemetery, south of Creston.

Those attending the service are asked to dress in comfortable, everyday clothes, including Iowa, Iowa State or other college, sports and racing gear.

A Mexican prosecutor says a gas leak in a water heater is suspected of killing the family while they were inside their rented condominium in Tulum, Mexico. Relatives reported the family missing about a week after they left for vacation. Their bodies were found Friday and investigators say they had been deceased about 36 to 48 hours when they were discovered.
