Lincoln Man Arrested In Crash That Killed Child

A 22 year old Lincoln man has been arrested for manslaughter in connection with a two vehicle crash last Friday morning that killed an eight-year old boy.  The crash happened just after 6:30 a.m. on N. Cotner Blvd and Garland Street.

Investigators and the accident reconstruction team has confirmed that 22-year-old Brandon Valentine was traveling 85 mph five seconds prior to the collision and 67 mph at the time of impact. Police believe alcohol was a factor in the crash.  Valentine was arrested Wednesday evening for manslaughter.

Police say Camden King, a third grader at Randolph Elementary, died and his father was critically injured. Investigators say Jesse King was stopped for a stop sign before pulling into the intersection where the Volkswagen was struck by the Valentine's pickup.
