Cox Communications Offers Free Wi-Fi Downtown For NCAA Tournament

As thousands of fans flock to Downtown Omaha for the NCAA tournament this weekend, they'll get to enjoy free Wi-Fi thanks to Cox Communications.

On Wednesday, Cox announced that they will offer the free Wi-Fi throughout the downtown area through March 26th. Fans enjoying the NCAA tournament atmosphere in the Old Market, Capitol District and parking lot tailgate locations around downtown can access the free service easily. Fans wanting to use the service just need to search for the Wi-Fi on their device, select “Cox_Bus_Central_HotSpot,” and accept the standard terms and conditions.

Cox’s Omaha Market Vice President Lynne Sangimino says they're happy to be able to provide the service for fans. “We recognize that staying connected has become a vitally important part of our daily lives and we see this as a way we can extend a warm welcome to the players and coaches, their families, and their fans.”

The Omaha Wi-Fi coverage will allow fans in roughly about a one mile radius to stay connected before and after the games. Cox has previously offered its Wi-Fi services free of charge every June as part of free Wi-Fi month, coinciding with the company’s support for College World Series baseball fans and Taste of Omaha attendees. The company will again offer free Wi-Fi month in June 2018.
