Burglary Suspect Stabbed During Struggle Appears In Court

A man accused of breaking into a house last August pleaded no contest to reduced charges on Tuesday as part of plea agreement.

The state says 57 year old Kenneth Harlow broke into a home near 80th and Harney last August. Harlow threatened a homeowner with a baseball bat. Prosecutors say the homeowner fought back, stabbing Harlow in the face with a screwdriver.

It happened the same week someone else allegedly broke into the home and was shot. The state and the defense came to a plea agreement. A use of a deadly weapon charge was dropped and the state reduced an assault charge.

Harlow could face more than 20 years in prison on the remaining burglary and assault charges. His sentencing hearing is scheduled for May 16th.
