Lincoln Police say a seven year old boy was critically injured Sunday afternoon after being shot in the chest with a nail at a home near N 31st and P Streets.
Around 3:00 officers were called to the hospital to investigate a boy suffering from a gunshot wound to the chest. The 7-year-old had life threatening injuries and was immediately taken into surgery.
Officers discovered the victim’s 12-year-old brother shot him in the chest with a nail that had been placed into a BB gun. The nail struck the victim’s chest near his heart.
Investigators served a search warrant at the home where the incident happened and recovered two BB guns. The victim is now in stable condition and expected to recover.
