Lincoln Police have identified the boy killed in a Friday morning crash.
Authorities say eight year old Camden King died after he was injured in the crash on Garland and North Cotner Boulevard around 6:30. Police say Camden's father was injured in the crash, but is listed in stable condition.
Camden was a third-grader at Randolph Elementary School. The district has notified families and his classmates and LPS will have a crisis team available to the students and staff. Camden was initially identified as ten years old, but authorities corrected a previous press release, confirming he was only eight.
Investigators say the Volkswagen Golf driven by Camden's father was westbound on Garland Street and stopped at a stop sign at North Cotner Blvd. The car then pulled into the intersection and was hit by a northbound Ford F-150 pickup tuck. The pickup did not have a stop sign. The truck driver was not seriously hurt.
