Thieves Break Through Wall To Rob T-Mobile Store

Omaha police are searching for a pair of crooks who targeted a T-Mobile store Tuesday morning.  Their plan was interrupted when two employees showed up for work around 9:30 and found the suspects inside the store at 90th and Grant.

"When the employees interrupted the burglary the suspects produced weapons and threatened the employees before leaving," OPD Sergeant Steve Fornoff told 6 News.

The two men threw some cell phones in a bag and tried to leave but realized that they were locked inside.  Employees said the suspects then kicked out the front door to escape. Police said the two thieves got into the building through a neighboring store that was unoccupied.

"It looks like our bad guys ended up breaking in to one of the abandoned stores next door and then broke through the wall to get into the cell phone store,"  Fornoff says.

Police are examining video footage to help catch the crooks. The investigation is ongoing. Anyone with information is urged to contact Omaha Crime Stoppers at 444-STOP.
