Douglas County Deputy Makes Three Drug Busts In Three Nights.

The Douglas County Sheriff's Office says four people have been arrested in three separate I-80 drug busts this week on I-80 in Omaha. On Thursday around 10:30 PM a deputy was patrolling eastbound I-80 when he observed a 2017 Hyundai Santa Fe commit a traffic infraction.

The Deputy stopped the car near I-80 & 10th street.  During the course of the traffic stop the Deputy became suspicious of illegal activity and deployed his K9 to walk around the outside of the vehicle. "Fletch" indicated the presence of drugs near the rear cargo area.

The deputy conducted a search and discovered 23 heat sealed bags containing nearly 27 lbs of suspected marijuana. He also found 2000 vials of suspected hash oil. The driver, 33 year old Aaron Shier of California, was traveling to Des Moines. He was arrested and booked on PWID Marijuana, PWID Hash and Failure to Affix a Tax Stamp.

This was the third drug arrest in as many nights for the arresting Deputy. Over the last three nights, 49 lbs of marijuana, 3 lbs of crystal methamphetamine, 2000 vials of hash oil and prescription fentanyl doses were taken off the street.
