Pitbull Tased, Beaten After Attacking Woman In Lincoln

A pit bull is on the loose in Lincoln after attacking a woman at her home Tuesday morning.  Police say the dog became aggressive inside the home in the 1700 block of North 41st Street around 12:45 a.m. according to Officer Angela Sands.

A 25 year old woman told police the dog became aggressive toward her husband.  She then grabbed a baseball bat to protect her kids and Zeus attacked her.   The woman was bit in her hand, chest and leg and she he hit the dog in the head several times with the bat.

Sands says the woman and her husband tried to get the dog out of the house as police arrived.  Zeus was still biting the woman’s leg, so officers used a Taser, and the dog ran off.

The woman was treated at the hospital for non-life-threatening injuries.  Sands says the 2-year-old white pit bull is believed is still on the loose and remains dangerous.  Anyone who encounters the dog should call Animal Control at 402-441-7900 and should not to approach it.
