Motorcyclist Seriosuly Injured In Crash

A motorcyclist was seriously injured Sunday night after an accident near Park Avenue and Woolworth. Investigators say the driver of a Ford Focus was pulling out of a nearby apartment complex when it was struck by the motorcycle around 7:00

The motorcycle then struck a parked Chevy Tahoe.  The man riding the motorcycle was transported from the scene with serious injuries, including neck and back fractures, a lacerated liver, broken leg and facial fractures.  Police say 39 year old Kari Tegeder was wearing a DOT approved helmet.  

The driver of the Focus, 66 year old Peggy Lou Stump was also taken to the hospital for neck and shoulder pain  

Police say this time of year more when motorcyclists start to hit the road.  "We do ask that all drivers, motorcyclists slow down and watch for turning cars," says Sergeant Chuck Casey.   "Wear your seat belts and safety helmets. It is that time of year. We want to keep any accidents to a minimum."
