Father Says Son Was Never In Danger During Statewide Search

A man who was being sought by authorities last week for disappearing with his 18-month son tells 6 News he's not the bad guy.

Joshua Sain took his son Parker from daycare in Grand Island last Tuesday. The Nebraska State Patrol issued a Missing Endangered Advisory because they believed the boy may have been in danger. Joshua Saind told 6 News his estranged wife told police he had threatened to harm Parker but he said that was not true.

Sain told 6 News he took Parker because his wife wasn't letting him see the child. "I'm sure there was a better way to go around it but what would you do, you know?” Sain said. “I went three weeks without seeing my son, only talking to him for maybe a total of 10 minutes."

Sain returned Parker unharmed. The State Patrol cancelled the advisory late Friday afternoon. Joshua Sain has not been charged in the incident.

He says he and his wife have divorce proceedings soon where custody of Parker will be discussed.
