Bellevue Police have arrested a 29 year old woman for felony Child Abuse in connection with an investigation that began last month.
On February 20 Police were called to check on Renshaw's well-being. Authorities had been told she might be harming herself and her children. Officers found Renshaw's two sons in the home, an 11-month-old and an 8-year-old.
Investigators say they received information that Renshaw had allegedly thrown the youngest child against a wall in the home. That night, both children were removed from Renshaw's care and placed with family members. The 11-month-old child was taken to Children's Hospital by his father.
Officers took Renshaw into custody and she was transported for medical treatment. They were later informed that the 11-month-old child had suffered significant bruising on his head and face. The child also had various small burn injuries on his body.
Police believe Renshaw caused those injuries. As the investigation continued, additional information was acquired indicating a reported history of abusive behavior toward the children inside the home.
On March 1, Renshaw was released from medical treatment and was taken to the Sarpy County Jail where she is now charged with felony Child Abuse.
