Six Pets Rescued From Burning Omaha House

One person and several pets are safe after fire heavily damaged a house near 34th and Washington around 3:00 Wednesday afternoon.

A teenager home at the time called 911 after fire broke out in a front bedroom.  Firefighters were able to rescue six dogs and cats as smoke filled the house.  Investigators are trying to determine what sparked the fire.

Four residents have been displaced.  The Red Cross and the Humane Society were called in to help the family and their pets.
