Elkhorn South Student Facing Terroristic Threats Charges

An Elkhorn South High School student is in Douglas County Youth Corrections after making threats. The teen is facing five counts of Terroristic Threats after a student reported to a teacher that they saw a threatening message written in a classmate's notebook.

A Douglas County School Resource Officer immediately retrieved the student and notebook as deputies were called to investigate the threatening message. According to the Douglas County Sheriff's Office, the student was taken into custody and booked in Douglas County Youth Corrections.

Principal Mark Kalvoda says the student has been removed from Elkhorn South High School. Kalvoda says although they take all threats seriously, at no time did school officials feel that students were in immediate danger.
