The National Weather Service in Valley says there will be periods of snow and freezing rain across much of the area throughout the day. 1-3 inches of snow is possible by this afternoon. A winter weather advisory is in effect until 6 pm.
It has been a long, busy week full of traffic accidents and falls. Local emergency departments report treating dozens of people for injuries related to the slick surfaces.
