Teens Accused Of Plotting Attack On High School Placed In Juvenile Center

Two teenagers accused of planning an attack on Plattsmouth High are now behind bars.

On Tuesday, the Cass County Sheriff's Office announced that two students, a fifteen year old boy and sixteen year old boy, had developed a "terroristic plans," but had not yet carried out their plan. The threat shut Plattsmouth high School down on Wednesday to allow law enforcement to investigate.

After the incident both boys were turned over to their parents and were banned from the school's campus. On Thursday, authorities announced that the teens were placed in the Sarpy County Juvenile Center by the State Probation Office.

Investigators say the hardest part of the investigation is dealing with hearsay. In total, 32 interviews were conducted, with over 27 hours of interviews during the investigation.

Detectives found that while the threat involved using a firearm to take lives at the school, the weapon they planned on using was never in their possession. Neither teen had access to the firearm as it was in a locked safe.

The teens will go before a Juvenile Court Judge on Friday.
