A Lincoln sanitation worker has died following an early morning crash in the Capital City.
Lincoln Police say just after 7:00 Thursday morning rescue crews were called to the area of Westland Circle and West Sumner Street for an accident involving a garbage collection truck. Authorities say it was reported that the truck slid on a patch of ice and crashed into a tree. One of the refuse collectors on the back of the truck was killed in the crash.
The victim has not been identified at this time as investigators continue their inspection of the scene.
