Lincoln Police say a 9-year-old boy who was home alone when a masked intruder broke into his house turned his pitbull loose and chased the man away.
Officer Angela Sands says the boy's mother left him at their home near 30th and T streets around 5 p.m. Wednesday to pick up her other children. A short time later the masked man entered the home.
Sands says the boy became scared and sent the dog after the man. He ran off and jumped into a car.
After the incident the boy went to a neighbor's house and called his mom and she contacted police.
