Changes May Be Coming To 10th Street Near CenturyLink Center; TD Ameritrade

There could be some big changes coming to the 10th Street corridor near the CenturyLink Center and TD Ameritrade Park.

The Metropolitan Entertainment and Convention Authority, which manages the arena and stadium, wants the City of Omaha to make some safety improvements. Proposed improvements call for traffic signals, pavement, sidewalks and wheel chair ramps. MECA officials say they believe the changes would also greatly improve traffic flow from their parking garage.

The improvements have an estimated price tag of $259,905 and under a proposed agreement with the City, MECA would reimburse the City for the total cost. MECA would also cover the cost of the traffic signal energy and maintenance. Construction could start as soon as this spring.
