The Rink on Farnam To Host Valentine’s Family Skate Date

The focus on Valentine's Day has always been on couples, but the Rink on Farnam at Midtown Crossing wants to shift the focus on to families on Sunday.

The rink will host their first ever Family Skate Date, which Molly Skold with Midtown Crossing is a great way to get the family together to help raise money for a good cause. "You're having fun, you're enjoying something, but you're contributing to the Salvation Army, which does so much good in this community."

The skate date won't just be skating though. Food and hot drinks will be available for purchase on-site, provided by Wohlner’s Grocery and Cold Stone Creamery. Offerings to include chili, brats, chocolate dipped strawberries, caramel apples, hot chocolate and coffee.

Skold says there will also be limousine rides so families can arrive in style. "You can park at Midtown Crossing in one of the two parking garages. Take a limo over to the skating rink and have a fun time with your family." Family friendly music will also be provided by 96.1 KISS FM from 6:00 PM to 8:00 PM.

Families are also encouraged to bring winter outerwear, such as hats, gloves and scarves, to support the Salvation Army's Winter Night Watch. Everyone donating will receive free admission for a future skate.

The Valentine’s skate is Saturday, February 10th from 6:00 PM to 10:00 PM. The cost is $5 per skater or $10 for the entire family, regardless of size, and includes skate rental. For more information visit the Rink on Farnam's website here
