Frost Completes First Recruit Class At Nebraska

Nebraska football coach Scott Frost says he is looking forward to getting to work with his new team. On Wednesday 11 players signed on with Nebraska and are part of a class that is ranked in the top 25.

Frost says he's not concerned about where the class ranks.  "I don't really care about the rankings. It matters on one day and that's today. I'm not here to win February. I'm here to win football games in the fall."

Frost believes many of the recruits will contribute immediately and can win football games.  He says the players coming to Nebraska will help fill some glaring needs.

"When you're taking over a 4-8 team, there’s a lot of needs," Frost says. "We wanted to take the best players we could take. We feel good about every player we got."

Here are the ten players who signed with Nebraska:

  • Maruice Washington - A running back out of Trinity Christian in Cedar Hills, TX, is rated as a four star and the 10th best back in the state
  • Willie Canty is a 3-star tackle,
  • Caleb Tannor tossed three hats to the floor before donning a Nebraska hat to make his announcement. He is a four-star outside linebacker.
  •  Cam Taylor, a 3-star athlete who played in the secondary in high school.
  • Cam'ron Jones is a safety out of Mansfield, TX. Jones is rated as a four star recruit, adding much-needed depth in the Husker secondary.
  • Braxton Clark is a three star athlete who is a versatile player with experience in the secondary but could make contributions elsewhere for Scott Frost's team.
  • Dominick Watt is a three star wide out from Hollywood, FL.
  • Miles Jones signed with Nebraska while widely being regarded as an athlete, capable of helping the Huskers in multiple ways.
  • Casey Rogers is a converted lacrosse player who can fill the role of strong side defensive end for the Huskers to help with the push up front.
  • CJ Smith chose the Huskers over Oklahoma and Florida and other schools. He is a three star safety.
