A Bellevue teen is heading to prison after being sentenced for his part in sex trafficking another teenager.
In October, DeArch Stubblefield pleaded guilty to a number of charges including Attempted Human Trafficking, Aiding and Abetting First Degree Sexual Assault of a Child and Possession of Child Pornography. On Monday, a judge sentenced Stubblefield to serve 20 to 40 years for his crimes.
Stubblefield's defense said the teen was a confused young man who made a mistake, and requested probation for him instead of prison time. The prosecution disagreed, saying Stubblefield didn't just make a mistake, he exploited a young girl. Stubblefield was accused of arranging for 41 year old Jason Gibson to have sex with a fifteen year old girl, with Stubblefield then recording the interaction, collecting the money and giving the girl a cut of the cash.
In court, Stubblefield said he wished things would have gone differently for him. "I let my Mom down, my Dad, I let everybody behind me, I let them all down and I just wish I get a second chance."
As part of his sentence, Stubblefield must register as a sex offender and with good time, he would be eligible for parole in ten years.
