One Injured, Two Dogs Killed In Omaha House Fire

An elderly woman was rushed to the hospital Tuesday afternoon for treatment of smoke inhalation after fire broke out in her house near 69th and Spencer.

Battalion Chief Bob McDonnell says crews could see smoke several blocks away and arrived around 3:30 to find flames coming from the home.   He says a man, believed to be the woman's son, was checked at the scene and is ok.

Two family dogs died in the fire.   McDonnell says the home sustained heavy smoke and heat damage.  The cause of the fire is not yet known.
