An inmate from the Lincoln Correctional Center was hospitalized Sunday after being stabbed by a fellow inmate.
Department of Correctional Services officials say the inmate was stabbed with a homemade weapon and have not released the name of the inmate stabbed, or the person responsible.
Officials did say that the inmate's emergency contact was not notified at the time of the stabbing, which is against protocol. They say that has since been corrected and the process is being reviewed to ensure notifications are made in the future.
