Crews in Harrison County, Iowa are working to find out what led to a truck being buried under sand with the operator of the truck unaccounted for..
Crews from several jurisdictions converged on the scene Thursday morning to look for the driver of t truck. Authorities say crews are actively looking to locate the man and that coworkers have been looking all night for the man after finding his Caterpillar truck in a sand ditch.
Initially it was believed that the truck was submerged in water, as the scene at Hallett Materials southwest of Dunlap, is near the Boyer River. There is water in the sand pits and a crane on site was digging up a mixture of sand, water and ice. Water rescue boats have been deployed to assist in the search. The circumstances remain under investigation.
