2nd Annual Omaha Women's March Today

Thousands of people are expected downtown today for the Omaha Women's March.  Organizer Andrea Talbot says the theme is to "March to the Polls".  She says this is a time to mobilize, galvanize and organize all these voters to really get educated on the issues and get out there and vote to get their voices heard.

Talbot says, "Last year the march was in response to some things going on in national politics and people weren't sure if it was really a moment or a movement.  I think of all that’s happened in 2017, I think it is more of a movement."

Last year millions of Americans took part in the Women's March with 15,000 in Omaha.  Talbot is hoping more show up for today's event.  It starts at 1:00 p.m. on 14th Street at the west side of the Gene Leahy Mall.  She says there will be several speakers before the actual march that will end up in the Old Market.

Hundreds of cities worldwide have organized marches today and Talbot says it is great to see all these anniversary marches happening.
