Streetcar Advocates Host Public Meeting

Proponents of Omaha's streetcar want to hear from residents about the possible construction of a line through the heart of Omaha.

The group, Modern Streetcar Advocates, will hold a public meeting for those who want to have their voices heard on the topic. The meeting will be held Thursday, January 18th from 4 PM to 6 PM at Commerce Village 950 South 10th Street.

The proposed streetcar system would bridge the gap between Omaha's Downtown and Midtown. Modern Streetcar Advocates envision commuters being able to navigate some of the metro's most densely populated areas without a car, which in turn would lessen the need for more parking in those areas. They also envision the streetcar giving businesses the opportunity to grow.
