The Douglas County attorney has filed additional charges against Justin Peters, the man accused of causing a deadly traffic accident near 21st and Cuming last week.
Police say 47 year old Julian Flore was walking across Cuming Street as Peters was eastbound in a Dodge Dart. Investigators say said his car hit Flores and Peters kept going.
Flores died in the hospital two days later. Peters was located a short time later and booked for Leaving the Scene of a Personal Injury Accident and DUI. Douglas County Attorney Don Kleine said Wednesday that the charges will be amended to Motor Vehicle Homicide.
Peters is currently being held on $500,000 bond. If convicted, Peters could face up to 20 years in prison.
