Winter Storm Leaves Dusting Of Snow And Ice Over Metro

Thursday's winter storm had been predicted to drop up to nine inches of snow, but has left the city covered in less than two inches. The storm didn't stop businesses and schools to close and cause major headaches for commuters.

Every metro school closed their doors in anticipation of the storm along with hundreds of businesses and churches. Trash collection on Thursday was also halted and pushed to Friday, causing residents who usually leave their trash out on Fridays to have to wait until Saturday for pickup.

The icy, snowy conditions also forced the Omaha Police Department to stop responding to non-injury accidents around 9:00 Thursday morning.

Cold and wind will hang around in the metro though, with temperatures dipping below zero. Another chance of snow will come Friday night with possible accumulations around one to two inches.
