Omaha Police are searching for the driver behind the wheel of a pickup truck during a hit and run incident and are asking the public for their help.
Police say on Friday, January 5th the truck was turning off of B Street onto 26th Street when it hit a parked vehicle. The force of the impact pushed the vehicle about 30 feet from where it was originally parked.
Authorities say a witness heard the impact and saw that his wife's car had been hit by the truck. When the witness went to confront the truck driver, the suspect drove away from the scene. The witness told officers that the pickup driver yelled "sorry" as he drive away, but the man was able to snap a picture of the truck before the suspect got away.
The vehicle is described as a 1990’s maroon, extended cab Chevrolet Silverado with heavy front damage and no headlight. The truck has a chrome grill guard, silver trim and loud exhaust.
