Wanted Man Hospitalized By U.S. Marshal

A wanted man is in the hospital after being shot during an altercation with law enforcement.

Lincoln Police say around 8:00 Friday night a Deputy U.S. Marshal and two Lincoln Police Officers were attempting to apprehend 25 year old Thomas Sailors.

Sailors had a warrant out for his arrest out of Gage County for Possession with Intent to Deliver Narcotics. Authorities say Sailors was located in a stolen SUV near 17th and Prospect when law enforcement made contact with him. Sailors attempted to flee, hitting at least four vehicles including the ones driven by the Marshal and the officers.

The Marshal then fired shots into the vehicle, hitting Sailors. A pursuit ensued, and eventually Sailors was taken into custody at a Lincoln hospital. Sailors is now in critical but stable condition.

An investigation into the incident will be conducted by the Lincoln Police and Lancaster County Sheriff's Office. No other injuries were reported.
