An alleged robber that was attempting to hide from police, didn't do a very good job.
Council Bluffs Police say the suspected robber held up a Kwik Shop near 17th and Broadway around 3:00 Friday morning. The victim told officers he was walking back to the store after taking the trash out when the suspect showed them a gun and ordered him back into the store.
The victim says once inside the store the suspect demanded money from the register and fled after they got the cash. The employee told police that he saw a red pickup truck drive by the store a short time before the robbery.
Officers were checking the area after the robbery and located a red Chevy truck with no plates. When officers approached the truck, the located the suspect on the floor of the truck attempting to hide under a coat. Officers also located a gun in the truck that matched the description given by the victim.
The suspect was taken in by officers for further questioning.
