Man Shot In Car-Jacking At Horseshoe Casino

A night at a casino left a 53 year old Elkhorn, Nebraska man in the hospital.  Council Bluffs police were called to the Horseshoe Casino at 2701 23rd Avenue at 4:43 a.m. after receiving a report that a man was laying in the parking lot and had been shot.  Police say the victim had been shot during a robbery and car-jacking.  The victim tried to run but was shot in the upper thigh by the suspect who then took off in the victim's gray 2006 Ford F-150 Super-Crew pickup.

The victim was taken to a hospital and is expected to recover.

Omaha police officers later found the victim's pickup near 45th and Center.  The vehicle had been burned. 

Council Bluffs Police Criminal Investigation Division is investigating the robbery, carjacking and shooting.  The Omaha Fire Department is conducting the arson investigation.
