A 2 year old boy is safe after he was found wandering the streets near 32nd and Poppleton around 2 Tuesday afternoon. The temperature was two-degrees. Police reports show two people saw the boy, wrapped him up, put him in a car and called the police.
Police searched the area and about a half-hour later were approached by 41 year old Chasity Howard who was looking for the boy.
Howard told police that 26 year old Courtney McDaniel was supposed to be watching the child and woke up to find both of them gone. McDaniel had a different story and told police Howard was supposed to be watching the child. She also told police she had been watching the child while his mother was out of town. McDaniel was cited for child abuse by neglect with no serious injury.
The boy was taken to Project Harmony. Police were able to contact his mother who was on her way to that location to pick him up.
