Plans are in the works to bring a brand new indoor-outdoor music venue to La Vista's City Centre project, which is under construction along 84th Street between Harrison and Giles.
Through a partnership between the developer of the project, One Percent Productions and Mammoth, Inc. the new venue would host about 150 shows per year, filling a gap in the current metropolitan market.
“We know there are many artists who skip over the Omaha metro area because there isn’t the right-sized venue for their fans,” said Josh Hunt of Mammoth Inc. “These bands are looking for a 2,000-4,500 seat, flexible space and that just doesn’t exist right now.”
Mammoth Inc. and One Percent Productions have been booking concert, comedy, family-friendly and other entertainment shows in the Omaha and mid-west market for about 20 years. Managers of both organizations said the La Vista site represents a unique opportunity to build the space artists want from the ground up.
“We can create a venue that provides the flexibility we know artists want in a new lifestyle development that brings the ultimate customer experience for their fans,” said Jim Johnson, One Percent Productions.
The proposal calls for the 52,000 square foot facility to be connected to the City’s planned amphitheater. The City would operate the amphitheare. One Percent Productions and Mammoth, Inc will handle the bookings for the indoor facility.
It can also can be used for corporate events, weddings and other community functions. Construction is expected to start in May 2018, with the venue opening in the fall of 2019.
