Woman Arrested In Omaha For Transporting Hundreds Of Pounds Of Marijuana

A California woman is behind bars in Omaha after being caught transporting hundreds of pounds of marijuana on I-80.

The Douglas County Sheriff's Department say on Wednesday, 31 year old Ebony Douglas was pulled over after a traffic violation on eastbound Interstate 80 near 108th Street. Authorities say during the stop, the deputy became suspicious of illegal activity and called on his K9 Fletch. Fletch indicated the odor of drugs on both the trailer and rear of the vehicle.

Deputies conducted a search of the SUV and trailer, which led to the discovery of bags containing 462 pounds of marijuana and a duffel bag with hundreds of vials of hash oil. Douglas told the deputies she was transporting the drugs from California to Michigan.

Douglas was arrested on a number of charges including Possession of Marijuana with the Intent to Deliver, Possession of a Controlled Substance with the Intent to Deliver (hash oil), and Failure to Affix a Tax Stamp.
