A Ralston High School student has been arrested after fabricating a story that caused the school to go into lock down Wednesday afternoon.
Ralston Police say they were able to make contact with the male student, who called to report seeing someone with a gun during the noon hour. The call led to the school to being locked down. Frantic parents rushed to the school after receiving calls and texts from their frightened children.
As some students ran from the building, others barricaded themselves in classrooms. Police officers walked the hallways checking for the possible threat.
Police say after finding the caller they were able to figure out there was no one with a gun. The lockdown lasted close to about 40 minutes. The student was arrested for Terroristic Threats and booked at the Douglas County Youth Center.
