Happy 100th Anniversary Boys Town

It is a big day at Boys Town.  It was 100 years ago today that Father Edward Flanagan opened the doors on an orphanage for five  boys.  That home turned into a campus and then into one of the largest centers for youth - both girls and boys.

The home became its own community that included a school, dormitories, a police station, post office, a farm and more.

Today, Boys Town provides services to more than 75,000 children and families and operates a dozen regional centers across the country. They also operate the National Research Hospital, the Boys Town National Research Institute and The Boys Town National Hotline along with residential and parenting programs.

Boys Town has been celebrating and preparing for their anniversary for the past year and officials are looking forward the next century.
