Council Bluffs police released the name of the person found dead Monday afternoon at 1004 1st Avenue as 34 year old David Randall Simpson. Investigators say Simpson was homeless and the Iowa State Medical Examiner's Office ruled the cause of death as homicide by blunt force trauma.
Officers were called to that address around 10:30 after a man walking his dog discovered the body. Officers ruled the death was suspicious in nature.
