A former real estate agent is heading to prison. Dirk Blume had pleaded no contest to manslaughter and the use of a weapon in the death of Seth Hansen on January 7th.
Hanson was working at a convenience store near 138th and Maple and was getting ready to close when he and Blume started arguing. When Hanson walked in front of Blume's pickup he was struck and hit his head on the cement. Hansen died from blunt force trauma.
Blume was arrested a week after Hanson's death and was originally charged with second degree murder.
In court today, Blume was sentenced to 10 to 14 years for manslaughter and 1 to 2 years for use of a deadly weapon - his pickup.
