Update On Disappearance Of Lincoln Woman

At a Tuesday morning press conference, law enforcement officials said a body has been discovered that is believed to be that of a missing Lincoln woman.

Lincoln Police Chief Jeff Bliemeister says the body was discovered Monday afternoon. "We believe that it's Sydney. We have a strong belief based upon the entirety of the investigative process, but actual confirmation will come following the other testing including the autopsy."

Bliemeister did not elaborate on where exactly the body was discovered, only that it was found in rural Clay County. "It's in an open area, it's not in an urban environment and we've closed that area off completely."

A digital footprint is what Bliemeister says led them to the body. "It truly was a collaborative process through analysis of the digital evidence and then putting people on the ground, including the Nebraska State Patrol and Sheriff Jeff Franklin and his people in Clay County, that led to the actual discovery." The chief says over 40 officers from multiple agencies responded to the area to help investigate the scene.

Authorities say foul play is believed to be involved in Loofe's death. Investigators are still speaking with the two persons of interest in the case, Aubrey Trail and Bailey Boswell, who are being housed in the Saline County jail. Trail and Boswell are two of the last known people to have seen Loofe before her disappearance, but they say they had nothing to do with her disappearance.

Loofe had not been seen since November 15th, and was reported missing the next day when she didn't show up for work. Her family and friends spent weeks circulating pictures of Sydney on social media, billboards and fliers.

No further details have been released at this time.
