Law Enforcement Ask Public For Any Information In Woman's Disappearance

Lincoln Police, along with the FBI and other law enforcement agencies, have announced that two 'persons of interest' being sought in the disappearance of 24 year old Sydney Loofe have been located but that more information is still being sought.

In a Thursday morning press conference, FBI Special Agent Randy Thysse said they are hoping the public can help shed some light on their search for Loofe. "Recent information that we've received from the public has really helped our investigation tremendously. So, that's kind of why we're here today is to ask for the public's assistance in getting information to help locate and bring Sydney home."

Thysse went on to say that they had been in contact with Aubrey Trail and Bailey Boswell. "Literally moments ago, we've made contact with two individuals that I think we all know here. It's a very fluid situation. We've located both of them and we're talking with both of them at this particular time. So as the details become more clear and as it develops, I will keep everyone updated."

In a video posted online Thursday morning, Trail said again that he and Boswell had nothing to do with Loofe's death and would be making contact with law enforcement. "We’ve pretty much decided to turn ourselves in and see where this goes." Thysse didn't name exactly where the two were found, only that they were located "somewhere in the Midwest." He also stated that although they have contact with Trail and Boswell, they are still asking for the public's assistance.

Loofe's parents were on hand at the press conference and her father George thanked the public for helping share her story on social media. "Continue that, and thank you for all of your prayers. And, in my opinion, someone knows something. Please, please do the right thing."

Lincoln Police Chief Jeff Bliemeister stepped to the podium to give an update on searches conducted during the investigation, including one on Wednesday that focused on a pond in Wilbur. "There's been multiple search that have begun since the 16th of November when this all started. There were, that was brought to all of your attention, areas in rural Saline and Gage county that were searched. That's just based upon information as we continue to develop it. Once we receive it, we want to go out and  say 'Is it good information or is it something that we just need to rule out as being involved?' and that's what yesterday's efforts were all about." He said no new evidence had come out of these searches though.

Bliemeister also addressed rumors that Loofe's phone had been discovered buried in Trail's yard in Wilbur. "To speculate on rumors of this, on that particular one, that is not true." He said they do still believe that Sydney can be located alive.
