Omaha Police say the driver involved in a weekend crash that left one man fighting for his life has been released from the hospital and taken into custody.
Authorities say 22 year old Alberto Antonio Castro Sanabria was booked into Douglas County Corrections on Sunday. He is charged with DUI- Causing Serious Bodily Injury and Reckless Driving after a crash early Saturday morning.
A Ford Mustang, driven by Castro Sanabria, crashed into a parked F-250 pickup truck near 31st and Marcy just before 2:30.
The impact of the crash forced the truck into a parked Audi and sent the Mustang into a light pole. Castro Sanabria was found lying outside the driver's side door of the car. His passenger, seventeen year old Luis Alberto Castillo Cabrera had to be extricated from the car. Both were taken to Nebraska Medicine for treatment. The teen suffered a head injury that is considered life threatening.
