Two Bodies Found After Man Missouri Valley Fire

Missouri Valley Police confirm that the two bodies were found after a downtown building was gutted by fire Thursday.

The fire broke out in a building at 304 Erie Street in the main business district around 7:45.  The building, which houses a computer and electronics store,  is across the street from the Missouri Valley Police Department.  Police Chief Edward Murray tells 6 News both bodies were burned beyond recognition and that autopsies have been ordered.   

A man who had been living in the building remained unaccounted for and authorities could not confirm he was one of the two people found dead. 

The man is the night watchman at CTI Electronics, the business where the fire started.  The business recycles computers and other electronic prodcuts

The main street was shut down with all traffic diverted as crews battled the flames. By 9:30 most of the smoke had diminished and it was under control by 11 a.m.
